On May 23rd, 2009 River Town Paranormal Society did an evening investigation at a cemetery 15 miles from Quincy Il. It was the last investigation the original team did together, we regret to say. As in many areas of the country you have locations that were split in half before the civil war, during the civil war and still after the civil war. It was a necessary but gruesome time in the history of our beloved country. Our tri-state area is one of those areas that was decidedly split. Quincy Il at the time was a safe area for the runaway slaves and the beginning of four routes of the Underground Railroad. In a small town across the river from Quincy was a volatile area of Confederate soldiers and sympathizers. Battles were fought in this small town as well as Hannibal Mo, Mark Twain's home, just 20 mins down the river from Quincy. To say this area is rich in history is an understatement and RTPS has found the researching of possible haunted locations are rewarding.
This night of May 23rd was one of those cool Spring evenings in the Midwest. It was rather windy because a storm front had move north of us, but luckily no rain had fallen that night. Temps at the time of the investigation were in the 70's, just warm enough to bring out all the mosquitos and moths for the evening. Everyone who has ever investigated a cemetery in the warm months knows what we speak of. A flashlight will show the density of the veil of insects that surround you. Pictures of orbs are many, LOL, but they are bugs. For audio, it was windy, outside and just a few miles from a interstate. We had to double check every sound to make sure it wasn't a semi hitting it's air brakes or the baseball game several blocks away. Personal experiences were many and though we can't report on the ex members experiences we can report on ours and one other.
The second group investigated the newer part of the cemetery during the later part of the evening. All video is blackened because they did not turn on the IR light. Around 10 or so the local police did show up to talk to them, just a friendly visit, they had been notified that we would be there. The two officers noticed black shadows by one of the headstones which seemed to be the major game of the night for paranormal activities.
Our group experienced this several times during the night. In cemeteries shadows play matrixing games with your minds, but it seemed that every so often a black shadow would fly by at warp speed in your peripheal vision. Personal experiences were many and on two occasions our group believed we heard a growl or voice. We did pick up more EVP's this night. Two are audible but we unclear of what it is. The first one we picked up though is fairly clear.
Our group investigated the newer part of the cemetery in the early evening. It was still light out. We came upon several headstones that were from the mid 1800's and had been viewing these when we pick up this EVP. We welcome everyone to let us know what they believe it is saying, we have our thoughts but would love to hear yours. It is a sentence, this much we are sure of.

Audio evidence has floored us, we seem to pick up pieces here and there, which shouldn't happen. We honestly try to debunk it as another person's voice, or if it's something in the
background, but this one is neither. It sounds like this spirit is walking with us and trying to communicate. If we get responses to what you think it says we will then follow up with what we
think it says and what a sensitive thinks it is afterwards. As always, thanks for following us, we enjoy sharing with everyone.
