Working away

Last weekend was our first investigation of the year. It felt good to get back into the saddle once again. Although we never completely get away from thinking or talking about paranormal activity in our day to day lives, it was nice to have a few days to spend time devoted to our families. When one is a paranormal investigator you are in it for everything you’ve got. Time, thoughts, money, passions are often directed towards searching for this world that we believe is our existence beyond our present world. It’s a commitment that very few people can totally devote their time to. Luckily for us we have 5 devoted members who have committed their time to the group or we would not be where we are right now.  We do not take committment lightly, it’s very hard for many people to understand what committment is until you have found out for yourself.
The investigation of 410 Maiden Lane was an interesting investigation by the very history of the area. RTPS truly hopes to find a pathway to investigating the areas in the Tri-States that were associated with the UGRR. We aren’t quite sure why we have such a strong inclination to do this but most of our paths have led us to these areas. The house on Maiden Lane has stood there since the late 1800′s if not earlier. The Van Doorn’s and their abolishinist activities took place only a block away from this area. However, the story of Bethsheba Hobson was so tragic that we were honored to be able to come into this home to see if it is the spirit of Bethsheba that the owner has seen.
We are working very hard on going through some 75 hours of audio and video recordings. No investigation is easy, even when you have a set investigative procedure nothing ever goes to plan. One member of our group became dizzy and ill early on in the night but recovered quickly. It’s experiences like this that throws the investigation off it’s path, but we did recover. We hope to have the results from the investigation available to our client within a couple of weeks. Once we have set down with him we will be able to post our information onto our website, with his permission. We would like to thank Tommy Vahle for letting us investigate his property. It is only through the cooperation of owners and paranormal investigators that we may someday find evidence of what we believe to be spirits existing amongst us. When an owner agrees to do this they are opening a window to let this research happen. We have run into quite a few owners who are not willing to do this. Without the permission of people like the Cunninghams, the Riverez, Nancy Goehl, The Villa Kathrine Board and Tommy Vahle we would not have been able to successfully capture audio evidence of paranormal voices. We thank them most appreciatively.

It has been a pleasure working with this group. We had them at our home back in November. I thought we were crazy with what was happening in our home. RTPS quickly assured us it wasn’t in our heads. I would recommend them to anyone! What a great group of investigators!
