A Night at the Mausoleum
Well, their weren’t any large T-Rex’s chasing us around and Teddy Roosevelt wasn’t riding through the hallways but our visit at Woodland Mausoleum last Saturday was just as much fun as the movie by a similar name. The historical replicas did not come to life at the mausoleum but something did. RTPS asked medium’s Les and Greg Haslem to go with us to the mausoleum since Les has never been there. Les is newly transplanted from California yet many parts of this area seem like home to her. She and Greg often walk the cemetery but had not been able to get into the mausoleum yet.
The mausoleum is one of our favorite places to investigate, along with many other paranormal enthusiasts in the area. To give something back for being able to come and spend time with many of the families who have been placed there lovingly by their family members, we offered to do some clean up before we went “lights out”. RTPS feels that working with people like Keith N., manager of the cemetery and mausoleum, keep these resting areas clean and maintained, together we can keep these pieces of history alive for future generations. The cemetery is large and does depend on volunteers for the monumental job of clean up in the spring after a long, windy winter. It’s a privilege to be able to help. Even though we started off cleaning, as always, we turn our audio recorders on as soon as we get there.
It hard to say why it happens this way so often, but many times some of our clearest evp recordings are caught right when we first enter a building. Is it because the spirit energy becomes highly charged by our energies as we walk in? Are they very curious at first, then back off and follow us around? Are they upset with us and are yelling at us to get out of their peaceful surroundings? We aren’t sure, but hopefully they appreciated us giving the mausoleum a little shine and clearing the cobwebs that have set in over the winter.
We did capture several evps once again last Saturday. The Haslems did pick up on several spirits there, one in particular, a little girl named Betty. We believe our group was able to work with the Haslems energies to pick up new evidence of paranormal activity at the mausoleum. As this week goes on we will begin posting some of our evidence. One particular piece of video is possible evidence of the energy of Betty the little girl who plays at the mausoleum. She came out to play and we believe we have captured evidence of that. Stay tuned!

Once again, we had a great evening working with the RTPS group. It is certainly a pleasure working with all of them, and not have a “Run Dude!!!” no matter what clangs or thumps. There were several residents in attendance that evening, we think not all from the Mausoleum. It may be one or two hang out in here as their stones have been vandalized and they need a place to be. In the second EVP, that was Betty crying. As we have no idea where her mom was, we did the best we could with her. We only found the resting place of her dad there. She was extremely lonely and bored as any 6 year old would be stuck in a place like that. We found that she was in a different mood than the last time RTPS visited and was not at all interested in playing ball.
Typically, residents inhabiting places are marginally aware of each other, but not connected, and the mausoleum was no different. We encountered 5 folks there and only 2 of them communicated with each other. Mary C. Cherry was rather pushy with one of the others when we were working with Betty. Good on her!
All in all, was a very rewarding investigation and look forward to getting back again. Our thanks to RTPS for the invitation and would join up with them anytime.
